Testimony

I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior at 13. I found great comfort in reading the word of God as a teen and began attending youth group and church with whomever would take me.  I raised money to attend a missions trip to Mexico and it was there that I realized my love for serving and helping others.

As a young adult I had a vision of the person I wanted to be but was still a bit apprehensive to let Jesus take full control. I left home in 2003 for LaCrosse to attend college graduated with honors with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education and Art in 2008 from the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse.  During and after college, I worked for many years as a paraprofessional in a residential school for students with developmental disabilities, then as an autistic line therapist and as a kindergarten special education program support aide before while applying for art teaching positions around the state.

In 2009 while living in the Fox Valley, I began to attend Cornerstone Church of Menasha regularly.  I began to understand that God’s plan was ultimately better than the one I imagined and I let God begin to take control. I have been wholly blessed ever since.

I married my wonderful and supportive husband Ryan in 2011 shortly after being blessed with the opportunity to work in Wausau’s public schools.  We transplanted to Wausau from Appleton shortly before the school year began. I worked for 8 years at many of the Wausau School Districts Elementary schools. With the birth of our 4th child Idaho, I realized that I was being called to serve my family. I needed a more faith and family centered opportunity and with a lot of prayer I applied to Faith Christian Academy.

My husband Ryan works at People’s State Bank. God blessed us with four beautiful children Henley, Della, Windsor and Idaho. Three currently attend FCA. Our family regularly attends and worships at Highland Community Church in Wausau where Ryan and I currently volunteer in the nursery. Ryan and I are also on the Chalkfest Committee which we have been serving for 5 years.
