Testimony

I grew up in a Christian home, the youngest of four children raised by my widowed Mom. My dad was killed in a farm accident when I was two. My mom made sure she took us to church every Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Wednesday night. If the doors were open, we were there. I learned the truths of the gospel when I was very young, but I was a very insecure girl. In high school, I hung around mostly with my church friends. I went to public school, was active in youth group, and was generally a pretty ‘good’ kid. It wasn’t until I was seventeen that I realized the ugliness of my personal sins.  I asked Jesus to save me, and make me into someone He could use. My worth before I knew Christ was in what I could (or couldn’t) do. My worth after accepting Jesus was because God made me and because Jesus died for me. I have never been the same since that day years ago.

I have a BS in special education and taught in the public schools for a couple years before getting married and having children.  I stayed home with my preschool children and then home-schooled them for several years. I began teaching at FAITH in January of 2000. Over the years I have taught half-day kindergarten, as well as first and second grades. It has been amazing to watch God grow this school from about 80 students in 2000 to over 300 in 2022! I treasure the decades that I have been able to partner with this wonderful group of staff and parents for the education of the students here. Being part of the FAITH family has been a huge blessing to me!

My husband, Jeff, and I enjoy biking, kayaking, and camping in the summer time. We also enjoy visiting our adult children. Ben is currently teaching abroad, and Jess and her husband live in Virginia.
