Testimony

“I was raised in a church in the Wausau area, and even from my youngest memories, had a hunger to know about Jesus. The Gospel was never clearly presented in my home church, and after some difficulties in my life, I sometimes wondered if God was real. But He never gave up on me. At 18, I was asked to help with the Sunday School program at church. I didn’t really know what I would do, but I thought it might be good to read the Bible to give me some ideas. I had never really read the Bible prior to that time, but as I read about the characters in the New Testament, it hit me that these were real people, with all of their flaws, and yet God used them. Although I didn’t connect the dots and see my need for a personal relationship with Christ at that time, God was working on my heart.’

“After graduating from high school, I attended UW Stout for a degree in Early Elementary Education. Although I didn’t finish that degree before transferring to Oshkosh for Nursing, God had plans for me there. I was invited to attend an Intervarsity Christian Fellowship meeting, and for the first time, heard a clear presentation of the Gospel. In the weeks that followed, the Lord impressed on my heart the need to make a personal commitment to Him. The strong fellowship there helped me to dig into God’s word and grow in my relationship with Him. Since then, the Lord has been so patient with me in my relationship with Him, sometimes two steps forward, one step back. Through the years, I have learned increasingly to love and trust Him more. I am so thankful that He is a part of my life. And I am thankful as a mom with students here at FAITH, that the staff and teachers seek to make Christ central in their teaching and to show how He is relevant in every aspect of their lives.”
