Beginning April 1st students will be taking the FORWARD exam. This is a Wisconsin state test that ” is designed to gauge how well students are doing in relation to the Wisconsin Academic Standards.  These standards outline what students should know and be able to do in order to be college and career ready. ” We are required to administer these exams to all students who receive a voucher; however, we have elected to administer this test to all of our students for simplicity and consistency. You can learn more about state assessments from the department of public instruction website.

Parents, you do have the option for your child to opt-out of the Forward exam. To do so, you as the parent or guardian, would need to submit a written request to the school office for your child to opt-out. We can receive this at any time from now till April 12th (this is when we will finish the exams). When you opt-out, your child will not complete any portion of the exam.

You can find an exam schedule on our website so you will know when your child is receiving testing. We ask that you do not schedule appointments during this time, but if you child misses, then he or she will complete the portion during the makeup time April 15-18. Currently, students have been practicing the Forward exam and you are welcome to see what this looks like by visiting faithca.org/test.
